New Camera and The Mission Nombre de Dios

So a couple of weeks ago I bought a new camera. A Nikon D3300. I am so loving it. Here are some shots of my first test with it at the Mission Nombre de Dios and Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche here at our home in Saint Augustine, Florida.

Quoting the website: http://missionandshrine.org/,  The Mission Nombre de Dios traces its origins to the founding of the City of St. Augustine, America’s oldest city, in 1565. On September 8, 1565, Pedro Menéndez de Avilés landed and proclaimed this site for Spain and the Church.

In the early 1600s, the Spanish settlers of St. Augustine established the first Shrine to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the United States. The present chapel was reconstructed in 1915 and enshrines a replica of the original statue of Nuestra Señora de la Leche y Buen Parto – Our Lady of the Milk and Happy Delivery.

Next we have The Great Cross. It is made of stainless steel and rising two hundred and eight feet above the marshes of the Matanzas River, stands as a sentinel over the Mission - See more at: http://missionandshrine.org/great-cross/#sthash.dY8NQhi9.dpuf

We had a great time walking around and playing with the new camera! Here are a few more shots we took with it.
